Old Sayings...Tried & True
Relating to the Upcoming election

(This was originally written back in February, 2008)

A short time ago, I received an e-mail that quotes Caroline Kennedy about her support of Barack Hussein Obama JR. I'm sure that it's an accurate representation of her statements. However, I'm also just as sure of something else. While it all sounds so beautiful, the old saying "beauty is only skin deep" applies here too! I'm convinced that what people think they will get from Obama is not what they'd really get...it's only a facade. This is something that I've known from deep inside myself ever since I first heard of him.

I'm not into arguing about politics, but feel that email opened the door to a really honest discussion of some of the things that I believe regarding the issue. A part of the quote refers to a comparison of the candidates (I'm sure she was only referring to the Democratic Party's candidates as the family is overtly leftist) when she states that they don't have any major policy differences so the three deciding factors she mentioned for choosing one of them included 'character' & 'judgment'. Let's think about that....

I'm sure that most of us have heard at least something in the media about Obama's links with Islam, etc.... I have to say that I wasn't really surprised by that. Actually, I wondered why it took so long for these issues to be discussed and so I went online to see what was being said for myself. Some people said these things were true; some said they were false. Unfortunately, much of what I found was aggravating postings by immature people attacking & bullying each other. Usually anyone trying to post an intelligent statement wanting to deal with the questions raised was a major target. Other than making me sick, it made me wonder... What would George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, or Lincoln, etc... think about the way these people were using real issues that will affect our future only as an excuse to abuse others?

I DO believe that we should know "WHO Barack Obama is". But I've always felt that ANYONE who runs for any office governing our nation should freely make their life an 'open book'. We should know who all of them REALLY are...and not what they, their staff, or party WANTS to tell us...but the "God's Honest Truth"...Who they are when nobody is watching & who they are when the pressure is on. It's 'who a person really is' that determines what they will do in times of pressure and the Presidency is constantly 'times of pressure'.

Obama's father was a black Muslim man from Kenya; his mother, a white atheist. They divorced when he was two...it is possible that this was done by the Sharia laws of his religion as was reported. When he was 6, his mother remarried...a radically Muslim Indonesian man. (Indonesia is Muslim dominated and is said to have the largest Islamic population in the world.)
A person's childhood always has a huge impact on who they are when they are grown.
Given that, Stop & think:

His black Muslim father deserted them when he was two...and yet, he identifies himself as a black man. Not white (which he has an equal claim to) or even bi-racial from what I've been able to tell. He was very young when Barack Sr. deserted them and so his dad didn't have much (or any?) direct influence on his childhood. Still, think of the strong desire to be accepted by or become acceptable to an absent father and how that could influence him towards his father's religious affiliation...his heritage...as it has towards his race. Or is the racial choice just for political reasons... you know what I mean...an attempt to get the 'black vote'. Whichever it is, two things are true...
1. Neither thing (even if understandable) recommends Obama to me.
2. It doesn't matter that some Americans can't see any link between him & his father's beliefs. To the Muslim world, the link IS there if ONLY because his father was a Muslim. He wouldn't even have to be a devout Muslim for the ethnic part of that connection to hold true for them. There is a spiritual AND cultural aspect to any religion.

Now let's think about the man who was more influential on his boyhood...the Muslim step-father he had growing up. From all I've been able to see, he DID influence Obama towards Islam. What we are taught at home & in school greatly helps to shape who we are. Regardless of how much he's tried to downplay it, he was educated in a Wahabi school...the kind that indoctrinates young Islamics into becoming radicals & terrorists. Yes, he went to a Catholic school for a short time too, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was taught in a Wahabi school in Jakarta, Indonesia. It's also been proven true that what a child is taught early on forms their character for the rest of their life.

Wahabism is the radical teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. It has been reported (just not largely through the liberal, secular media) that the Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to do that than through the government? The quickest way to infiltrate, influence & destroy would be the place where one man has much power...the President of the United States. It's a sobering enough thought to bear much serious consideration.

If Americans don't wise up, could history repeat itself as in the ancient Roman Empire? There wasn't an army around that could've defeated Rome IF they'd only kept to the original strengths & ethics that Rome had been founded on and that brought them to such power. Rome's decay from within is what really brought about the defeat of their once powerful empire.

Obama claims to be Christian. I am not the judge of his heart...God is, but I do know this...everyone who calls himself a Christian, isn't necessarily one. (And it isn't determined by having your name on a membership list either.) We're told in the Bible that we should not pass judgment on another, lest we be judged; BUT we're also told to be discerning. In other words, only God can judge anyone's heart to determine where they will spend eternity, but we Should make judgment calls in life to separate fact from fiction...good from evil...wise from foolish...truth from lies, etc.... Obama has lied about his family background and has been caught in it more than once...could this claim of Christianity be another lie? Many people are concerned that it is. It's well known that in American politics a person needs to appear Christian...whether they really believe & practice it or not. It's been reported that he became affiliated with his church only as he began his path towards politics. It's also been reported that his church is really just a very liberal social organization filled with people espousing left-wing politics. It's also been said that his affiliation with this liberal church is part of an elaborately designed ruse to appeal to a wider audience and throw the light off his Muslim leanings & upbringing. I don't have God's all-knowing eyesight, but I do have enough wisdom to see that it's very possible that these reports could be true considering the times we live in.

We can't bury our heads in the sands of ignorance...that would be playing into the hands of America's enemies. Before we got involved in WWII and found out the truth, most Americans didn't want to believe the 'rumors' of concentration camps and the horrors that went on there...but it happened. Before 9/11 if anyone had told the American public what was going to take place...who would've believed it? It would've seemed too far out there to be real...like fear tactics, propaganda or science fiction...But it happened. These are two historical facts.

It's also a fact that Muslim groups exist who've trained young Muslim men to act like Christian converts, even sending them to Christian universities, to aid their ability to infiltrate American society. So a Muslim claiming to be a Christian is not an unheard of impossibility. The big question is this, 'Is Obama actually a Muslim practicing their well-known art of taqqiyah (lying to infidels) in order to infiltrate the halls of American power?' It's a relevant question not so much because of what different religions he was exposed to during his formative years, but because of Obama's own lies about his past. It has been my experience that if a person lies about who they are, there's not much they won't lie about.

From what Obama admitted himself, his mother introduced him to ALL religions and then went on to teach him that they're ALL just BUNK dreamed up by ignorant people (not a direct quote, but a very accurate representation of what he said anyway). How much has this belief formed who he really is? I can't say exactly, but between the two major parental influences of Islam & Atheist...what rational, thinking person would really want to put their country, freedoms, or their children's future in his hands? I stand up for a person's right to believe whatever they want, but I also know that what we believe determines who we are and in the tense times we're living in, America's continued strength & freedoms depend on having a Commander-in-Chief with decidedly definite Godly ethics and morals...not someone who is obviously trying to be all things to all people...why else would he do all of that lying about his background?

There are a lot of reports that he won't say the Pledge of Allegiance, honor the flag, or be sworn in on a Bible (but used the Koran instead). I've seen a video where he didn't participate (during a Democratic Political event when you'd THINK any politician would want to appear patriotic) and he's shown a video saying that he does. I don't know if he usually does pledge or if he only does it when he MUST (like when he knows it will be recorded and available to point to if any questions get raised), but there's another old saying I know... "where there's smoke, there's a fire". Old sayings get to be 'old sayings' because there's a lot of truth in them. Most likely, neither extreme is 100% correct in their statements, but I certainly don't want to be governed by anyone whose allegiance I don't trust. I've never felt I could trust his...even before these reports existed.

America needs to stay true to our foundations or we could end up like the ancient Romans. American society may have strayed far, but this nation was founded as a Christian nation. Liberals, leftists and atheists may not want anyone to know it, but the TRUTH is that our whole system of laws and government is based on Judeo-Christian beliefs & morals. Many Americans still hold to them. This is the reason that Americans have been blessed with so much freedom to live, believe & worship (or not) however they choose. No Muslim-run country allows it's inhabitants to enjoy the human rights & freedoms that are taken for granted in America. It was Christian men who wrote that our government would not impose any one religious doctrine on the citizens of America as was done in other nations. (You know...that little statement that's been misquoted & twisted into the current secular humanism doctrine called separation of church & state!!!) Barack Hussein Obama's mama should be extremely grateful for that Christian tolerance...there are countries today where she could easily be killed for speaking against their state religion.

Having said all that, I can't offer up any 'legal proof' that Barack Hussein Obama Jr. is a Muslim or that he's part of a plan to destroy America. I doubt he could offer up any that would absolutely negate these concerns. Back to those wise old sayings: "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...chances are pretty good that it's a duck". In spite of how good his words may sound to the public, he strikes me as very 'duck-like'. I can say that although he has every right to be whatever he chooses...I have many legitimate reasons to doubt the sincerity of his campaigning and claims of Christianity given the circumstances. I want to be a wise discerner of the truth. As a Christian myself, I'm insulted by anyone who goes about claiming to be a Christian, but whose very beliefs & lives disagree with Christ. From what I can gather about his record, his 'fruits' and ideals are definitely NOT Christ-like. "By their fruits you shall know them" His 'fruits' (at least) where abortion, gay marriage and doing that old Democratic party's song-and-dance of paying lip service to Israel and then siding with the Muslims...well, they don't line up with WWJD. Any nation or person who is an enemy of Israel is cursed by God (not my words, but HIS). No Christian (or any person) is perfect; too many live 'on the fence' between Godly and un-Godly lives; too many are just 'social Christians'. But a wolf in sheep's clothing...that's a completely different thing...a thing to beware of.

So think, what do all of these things say about Obama's character and judgment? Do you want our country to be led by someone who has good morals and ethics? Should the President be someone who is truthful...even when the truth is not 'popular' or 'politically correct'? Is it okay if he says one thing, but does another? ...or should he be a 'man of his word'? Should he let his political advisors and polls make his decisions for him...or should he seek God's guidance & strength to do the truly right thing, in the right way... and stay the course ...even if it isn't popular? Do you choose to think that these reports are nothing more than propaganda? I guess it's possible, but ...9/11's headlines would've sounded like propaganda on 9/10. Anyone willing to be honest with themselves about this - knows it to be true.

Things in America are not as great as they could be. I supported Bush for President because I believed (& still do) that he was the best man running...a decision largely based on moral considerations. I thank God that he was in the White House when we were attacked and not someone who was no more than just a 'politician'. That isn't to say that I think he's done a perfect job in handling everything. There was something that we had to do as a nation in response to terrorism, but it wasn't necessarily done in the best way. Like many other Americans, I too, want us out of Iraq...but I want us to get out in the right way so that the sacrifices made by our military will NOT have been in vain. My brother fought in the Marines in Viet Nam. Thank God he came home, but many didn't. How our country handled that war and getting out of it didn't honor the lives of soldiers that were lost or forever changed. Some things may need to be changed, but change just for the sake of change often lands people right 'out of the frying pan and into the fire'. We're living in perilous times and this election is going to be an important one. We should all do our best not to fall into the trap of believing in a sweet-sounding facade and dismissing any less-flattering substance.

Back when Kennedy ran, he had all the charm & charisma and was a master at PR & 'talking the talk". (It's even been reported that he was largely elected on the female vote.) Even today we hear his time in the White House referred to as 'Camelot'. However, many things have come to light since then that have shown us that things were not as wonderful as they certainly seemed to the public. I don't say that to take away from any of the good he accomplished...for that was certainly there too. My point is only this...things aren't always what they seem. Having said all of that, I'll close by saying that I'm not trying to tell anyone who they should vote for. I'm not even sure there's anyone "in the running" that I can fully support. That's what I'd call a really sad state of things. I just believe that we need to take a serious look at what's REALLY going on here. With deception being the "Name of the Game" where a political campaign is concerned, we will need guidance from above to see the truth and be able to make a truly good decision on who to vote for. Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully taking my thoughts & concerns for our nation's future into consideration.
